PHASE II EXPANSION

SMPC completed a two-story addition to the Pecos Valley Medical Center, expanding essential healthcare access in this rural northern New Mexico community. The 9,700-square-foot expansion more than doubles the original building, adding critical dental and behavioral health services, administrative space, and additional parking to meet the region’s growing needs.

The lower level houses a new dental suite with seven operatories and behavioral treatment offices organized around a shared waiting area, while the upper floor accommodates administrative and staff support functions. A new elevator and central stair improve internal circulation and connect both floors directly to the existing main lobby, ensuring clear patient wayfinding and operational efficiency.

Architecturally, the addition strengthens the facility’s overall presence on the site. From the approach, the new volume rises behind and above the original entry, visually anchoring the campus and establishing a cohesive, modern profile. Expanded surface parking near the main entry provides capacity for over 40 vehicles, supporting higher patient volumes and accessibility.

This expansion allows Pecos Valley Medical Center to consolidate a wider range of healthcare services within one campus — improving convenience for patients and enabling more comprehensive, community-centered care. The result is a facility that not only enhances operational performance but also reinforces the clinic’s commitment to wellness, continuity, and local service in the Pecos Valley.
