CARLSBAD FORD

Carlsbad, New Mexico

Located on a highly visible site in Carlsbad, New Mexico, the new Ford Dealership establishes a modern, durable presence that reflects both the brand’s identity and the practical needs of a growing regional market. The dealership was designed to meet Ford’s national design standards while responding to the site’s remote context—delivering a facility that is efficient, cost-effective, and aligned with the client’s operational goals.

The 20,000-square-foot, single-story building is constructed using a pre-engineered metal system, selected for its economy, efficiency, and flexibility. SMPC refined the exterior expression with a blend of ACM metal panels and stucco finishes, creating a clean, contemporary look consistent with Ford’s corporate image. The facility sits comfortably within its five-acre site, designed to accommodate both vehicle display and customer accessibility.

Inside, the dealership balances function and comfort. The plan includes fourteen service bays—eight with lifts and four dedicated to wheel alignment—supporting a high volume of service operations. Customer-oriented amenities such as a spacious indoor showroom, administrative offices, customer lounge, and covered outdoor parking enhance the visitor experience and reinforce Ford’s commitment to quality service.

The result is a regional anchor for Ford’s brand—combining operational efficiency with a professional and inviting presence that strengthens the client’s connection to its community and customers.
