Raised in southern New Mexico — somewhere between a piano and a potter’s wheel — Sarah Pulling has always lived in a space of composition, creation, and mixed media. Growing up, she watched her parents explore fields of music and fine arts, and she learned the disciplines of practice, expression, performance, and mastery.
Drawing on those formative lessons of harmony and discipline, Sarah has spent seventeen years in design practice at SMPC Architects in her roles as Licensed Interior Designer and Project Manager. She is dedicated to creating spaces where design serves as a catalyst for connection, wellness, and community.
Sarah’s project experience spans commercial, K-12 and higher-education, government, liturgical, and privately-owned spaces throughout Albuquerque and rural New Mexico. She enjoys collaboration — working with clients, architects, and engineers to turn vision into meaningful, beautiful, multi-dimensional environments.
Rooted in the high desert foothills, grounded by the landscape of cedar and granite, Sarah finds daily inspiration in the shifting colors of the sky. She loves being near water, climbing high peaks, and carving fresh powder with her snowboard—finding poetry and delight in the windswept textures of water, sand, snow and hoodoo. Fascinated by music, language, story, form, sculpture, and food creations, Sarah enjoys stopping for a quiet downbeat at sunset and the pause for gratitude and joy.
