Magdalena “Maggie” was raised in Socorro New Mexico and the surrounding area before moving to Albuquerque as a young adult. Spending time in small, close-knit communities emersed in big landscapes has guided her ongoing line of questioning about rural identity and the relationship between the built and natural environment.

Maggie embraces the everydayness of architecture and the intuitive way we inhabit our spaces— how a space grows with its community long after it leaves the hands of a design team. Her favorite solutions are often the most simple and accessible.

Outside of the office, Maggie can be found walking her dog around the neighborhood, teaching at the UNM School of Architecture and Planning, and spending time with her big family.
